Q. Can I import an Excel 2007 spreadsheet?

Spreadsheets created in Excel 2007 can not be imported. You will need to save it in a version prior to 2007 and then import.

Q. How many years of data should I have?

Ideally, you should have at least twenty years of annual employment data for long-term projections. However, with the change from SIC to NAICS it may be difficult to reconstruct data for a full twenty year period. Information on constructing a NAICS based data series is found under the Publications menu.

Q. How can I close the Graphics Server if it remains open after exiting LTIP?

Sometimes the Graphic Server icon will remain in the Windows Task Bar, even though LTIP (or the Projections Suite) have been closed. To close the Graphics Server, follow these steps:

  1. Click (once) on the icon to highlight it.
  2. Press Alt+F4 to close the program.
  3. You may see a message that reads something like "graphics server has one or more active clients" and asking you if you really want to close. Select "yes" or "ok".
  4. The Graphics Server icon should disappear.
