The Skills-Based Projections (SBP) tool is designed to meet Employment and Training Administration (ETA) skill forecasting requirements. The SBP tool integrates Occupational Information Network (O*NET) skills data and your state or territory's short- and/or long-term occupational projections to identify current skill supply, projected demand, potential skill gaps and replacement needs.

The SBP system utilizes three components of O*NET's content model:

• Knowledge: learned sets of facts and standards required by many work situations.
• Skills: learned capabilities that allow workers to master and perform the specific activities of their jobs.
• Generalized Work Activities: the types of tasks that are common to many jobs.
