The Short Term Listserv is a way to communicate to other subscribed members via electronic mail. By subscribing, your email address is memorized by the STIP listserver. You will automatically receive messages from other subscribed members. You can also send messages to all subscribed members at any time.

The listserv may be helpful as a means to request technical assistance or comments from experienced data producers, in addition to that available from Utah. All messages should contain topics or related information concerning the short term projection program.

All server command messages (subscribe, unsubscribe, set nomail, etc.) must be sent in Plain-Text format. The list server administration engine cannot understand commands in HTML formatted e-mails.

To join the listserv, just send an email to Listserv@smtp.dws.utah.gov with the words SUBSCRIBE STIP in the body of the message. You will receive a verification notice after subscribing.

If you find you don't like the listserv, you may cancel your membership by sending an email to the listserver. In the body of the message put UNSUBSCRIBE STIP.

To send a message to other subscribed members, send your message to: STIP@smtp.dws.utah.gov. No other special commands are necessary for your message to be sent.

You can use other one-line commands to utilize various features of the listserver. These commands will be interpreted by the listserver when you include one or more in the body of your email. These commands only work with the Listserv@smtp.dws.utah.gov address. For these commands to work the message must be in a plain text format.

subscribe list name
Subscribe to the specified list, with the specified User Name.

unsubscribe list
Unsubscribe to the specified list.

set list options
Set the options for the specified list.

set options
Legal options are:

ACK -	Send short acknowledge when article is submitted.
NOACK -	Turn off acknowledge when article is submitted.
MAIL -	Receive articles from list.
NOMAIL -	Do not receive articles from list.
DIGEST -	Set to receive a digest of all messages sent to list.
NODIGEST -	Do not receive a digest of all messages sent to list.

query list
Display the currently selected query options for the current user on the specified list.

subs
Give a list of all of the lists on the server that the sender is a member of.
